Omosako Strong, Jays Shut Out by Tampa

Tampa, FL – The Dunedin Blue Jays were shut out for the fourth time this season as they fell 4-0 to the Tampa Tarpons in their rain-shortened series opener on Wednesday afternoon at George M. Steinbrenner Field. 

The rain-shortened loss came in what was initially scheduled to be a doubleheader, with game two postponed. Wednesday's second game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow, September 3, with game one beginning at 4:00 PM.

KEY PERFORMERS

  • RHP Sann Omosako (4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K) hurled four innings of one-run ball in his first Dunedin start and second Class-A appearance. 
    • Omosako did not allow a hit until a leadoff single in the 4th, and the only run yielded came on a 5th inning solo homer.
    • Over his first two outings since being promoted to Dunedin on August 25th, Omosako has allowed one earned run across nine innings with three hits and no walks.
  • DH Josh Rivera (1-for-3) smacked a single at 106.5 MPH to lead off the 4th inning in his first MiLB rehab game.
