Lawrenceville, GA --- After Tuesday's postponement, the Durham Bulls and Gwinnett Stripers split a doubleheader at Gwinnett Field.

Durham (27-19) claimed the opener 4-2, but fell to the Stripers (23-24) 7-0 in the nightcap.

The Bulls raced to a 3-0 lead in the opener thanks to a single by Jack Suwinski to score Carson Williams, who had walked to open the game.  Tre Morgan also scored when right fielder Jose Azocar overran the hit.  Tatem Levins followed with a run-scoring hit to right to build the three-run lead.

Austin Slater banged a solo homer in the third to give the Bulls a 4-0 advantage.

Jake Woodford tossed four shutout innings in his second Bulls start, with Cole Sulser, Owen Wild and Cam Hill (S, 5) closing out the victory with Hill notching his fifth save.

In the second game, it was the Stripers that jumped ahead early.  Gwinnett scored a first inning run against Bulls opener Michael Grove (L, 1-2) thanks to a single by Rowdy Tellez.  The Stripers moved ahead 2-0 in the second and knocked Grove out of the game in the process.  Azocar led off the inning by drilling a 104.9mph liner against the lower left leg of Grove for an infield single.  After Grove threw a pair of warmup pitches, he stayed in the game but was in distress.  Grove faced three more hitters, retiring two of them, but departed after a walk to Luke Williams.  Steven Wilson replaced Grove , allowing a run-scoring single to Patrick Clohisy to move the lead to 2-0.

In the fourth, Tellez connected for a two-run homer, expanding the lead to 5-0.  The Stripers added two against Brody Hopkins in the sixth.

Logan Workman (1-7, 6.81) is slated to start on Thursday night against JR Ritchie (6-3, 3.53) at 7:05 PM ET.

Notes:  After the liner against the ankle/shin of Grove, he faced three more hitters, making 15 more pitches before he was replaced by Wilson.  Grove noticeably limped walking toward the Bulls' dugout.... Rays rehabbing reliever Manny Rodriguez threw 2/3 of an inning in game two, allowing two hits and three runs, including Tellez's homer.  Rodriguez, whose rehab clock is winding down, threw a rehab-high 30 pitches and has an ERA of 10.50 over eight rehab games with Durham... The Bulls were shutout for the eighth time this season... Brody Hopkins, who threw eight pitches 100mph+ in his first relief appearance on Saturday against Memphis, including 12 pitches and nine for strikes, faced Gwinnett in his second relief stint, but struggled with his command.  Hopkins walked the first three batters, and permitted two runs on a single by Brett Wisely.  Hopkins threw 25 pitches, 13 for strikes and the hardest fastball was 99.9... Of Gwinnett infielder Brett Wisely's seven plate appearances in the doubleheader, four of them were seven pitches or more, including two that lasted nine.
