Salt Lake starter Brett Kerry pitched a season high seven innings in the Bees' 8-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Friday night at Southwest University Park. Kerry didn't allow any hits until Nick Solak's single to right field in the seventh inning.
San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove threw 70 pitches in his MLB Injury Rehab start for El Paso and allowed five runs in 4.2 innings. Musgrove struck out five and he has seven strikeouts and only one walk in eight innings over his two rehab starts with the Chihuahuas.
El Paso designated hitter Ethan Salas went 2-for-4 with an RBI and he's reached in each of his first 13 Triple-A games. Daison Acosta allowed only one hit in 2.1 innings in a scoreless relief appearance for El Paso. Hunter Stratton pitched a scoreless inning and he hasn't allowed any runs in his first four outings with the Chihuahuas. The teams have split the first four games of the series.
