The El Paso Chihuahuas led 5-0 early but lost 14-12 to the Las Vegas Aviators Wednesday afternoon at Southwest University Park. The Aviators have won the first two games of the series.
Las Vegas right fielder Devin Taylor went 4-for-6 with two home runs, including a grand slam, and seven RBIs. He became the first player to collect seven RBIs in one game against El Paso since Albuquerque's Jonathan Morales on July 2, 2023.
Nick Solak, Marcos Castañon and Nick Pratto hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first. It was the second time this season El Paso has hit three consecutive home runs (Clay Dungan, Mason McCoy, Nick Schnell on April 17 at Round Rock). Solak also hit two doubles and he has four extra-base hits in the first two games of the series. At three hours and 36 minutes, Wednesday's game was El Paso's longest of the season. The Chihuahuas have lost their last five games.
