El Paso first baseman Nick Pratto hit a tiebreaking three-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday night in the Chihuahuas' 11-8 win over the Salt Lake Bees. The Chihuahuas have won two of the first three games in the series and five of their last six overall.
Chihuahuas starter Sean Boyle allowed one run in five innings and has lasted five or more innings in seven of his last nine starts. Catcher Ethan Salas went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, and he's reached base in all 12 of his Triple-A games since arriving from Double-A San Antonio. El Paso turned three double plays Thursday, one shy of its season high.
The Chihuahuas had three ejections in the first 115 games of the season entering Thursday and had four in between the second and third innings Thursday night. Second baseman Marcos Castañon, manager Pete Zamora, hitting coach Ben Rosenthal and bench coach Morgan Burkhart were all thrown out after a call at first base to end the bottom of the second.
