The Las Vegas Aviators beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-5 Friday night at Southwest University Park to win for the third time in the first four games of the series. The score was tied 4-4 in the sixth inning when Las Vegas pulled ahead on a three-run double with two outs and two strikes by center fielder Brayan Buelvas.
Chihuahuas right fielder Nick Solak went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, his third of the season against Las Vegas in nine games. Center fielder Bryce Johnson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, his second homer of the season and his first when batting left-handed. Johnson also had a walk and two RBIs.
Las Vegas first baseman Joey Meneses went 3-for-4 with a walk and his Triple-A leading 108th RBI. Garrett Hawkins pitched 2.1 scoreless relief innings for El Paso in his first game back from Double-A San Antonio.
