Zach Ehrhard hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Oklahoma City Comets Saturday night in their 3-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas. The teams have split the first six games of the seven-game series.
Chihuahuas starter Jagger Haynes pitched five shutout innings and he's allowed only one run in his last 10 innings. Center fielder Carlos Rodríguez went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple and he's 11-for-20 in the series. His seven triples are fourth most in the Pacific Coast League. Catcher Ethan Salas went 1-for-3 with a game-tying single in the top of the eighth inning, and he's reached base in 21 of his first 23 Triple-A games.
Outfielder Kai Murphy and reliever Brent Honeywell Jr. both played in their first Chihuahuas game Saturday. Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith was Oklahoma City's designated hitter on MLB Injury Rehab and he hit two doubles. Five of the first six games of the series have been decided by one run.
