Nick Solak Named Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week

EL PASO – September 7, 2026 – Nick Solak has been named the Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week after his performances against the Las Vegas Aviators. 

Solak batted .519 (14-for-27) with five doubles, two home runs, and 10 RBI in six games against Las Vegas. He now becomes the third El Paso Chihuahuas player to earn MiLB honors this season, alongside Samad Taylor (PCL Hitter of the Month, April and PCL Hitter of the Week, April 21-26) and Logan Gillaspie (PCL Pitcher of the Week, May 5-10). 

Solak recorded a four-hit performance on Wednesday, with a double, a home run, and four RBI. He amassed nine total bases in what marked his fourth four-hit game of the season. It was the first of four multi-hit games of the series for the 31-year-old, who notched two hits on Friday and three hits on both Saturday and Sunday. 

The Illinois native is among the league leaders in numerous offensive categories, ranking 6th in batting average (.316), tied 6th in runs scored (86), 7th in RBI (78) and hits (131), 8th in total bases (209), and 9th in slugging percentage (.505). 

Solak is one of four Chihuahuas to record 100 or more hits this season, joining Carlos Rodriguez (139), Mason McCoy (131), and Marcos Castañon (117). 

The 2026 season continues Tuesday, September 8, as the El Paso Chihuahuas (21-42, 56-82) take on the Tacoma Rainiers (33-30, 66-72) in the final road trip of the season. 

First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Mountain Time at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, WA. The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and www.epchihuahuas.com.
