First baseman Matt Gorski hit an RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday night to give the Oklahoma City Comets a 2-1 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas. The Comets won the final three games of the series, and four of the seven games overall.
San Diego Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta threw 4.1 scoreless innings in his first MLB Injury Rehab start with El Paso, striking out seven and walking one. The Chihuahuas' lone run came in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by catcher Ethan Salas. Salas also had a walk, a stolen base and he caught a Comets runner trying to steal.
Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith went 1-for-3 with a single and caught seven innings for Oklahoma City on MLB Injury Rehab. Six of the seven games in the series were decided by one run.
