The Tacoma Rainiers scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Friday night and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 9-4. The Chihuahuas led 3-1 before Tacoma's 11-batter rally. The Rainiers have won three of the first four games of the series.
El Paso first baseman Nick Pratto went 3-for-5 with an RBI double, matching his season high for hits in a game. Pratto extended his hitting streak to 10 games and is batting .425 during that time. Designated hitter Carlos Rodríguez went 2-for-5 to advance his hitting streak to nine games. Tacoma starter Jhonathan Díaz struck out seven in six innings and he now leads the Pacific Coast League in games started (27) and strikeouts (108).
Trevor Gott pitched a perfect eighth inning with one strikeout in his Chihuahuas debut. Daison Acosta, Gott and Brent Honeywell Jr. combined to retire the final 10 Tacoma batters of the game. Saturday's game has been moved up to 4:05 p.m. Mountain Time due to expected rain in Tacoma on Saturday night.
