ERIE, PA - The Moon Mammoths (24-26) took down the Chesapeake Baysox (20-29) 4-0 behind a tremendous night of pitching on a Saturday night at UPMC Park.
Starter Sean Hunley turned in his best outing of the season. The starter tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball, with just four hits allowed and no walks, while striking out three. The righty, was relieved by Tyler Owens, who entered in the fifth inning and finished the frame without allowing a run.
Erie's offense got started in the second inning. After a leadoff walk to Justice Bigbie, Andrew Jenkins collected a single, before Bigbie scored on an Izaac Pacheco fielders choice.
The bullpen continued its lock down work. Yosber Sanchez entered the game and escaped a bases loaded jam in the seventh. Trevin Michael and Wandisson Charles also turned in scoreless outings in the final two frames to secure the win.
The highlight of the night offensively came off the bat of Izaac Pacheco. He blasted a long two-run home run to right field in the 6th inning, to extend the lead to 4-0. It was Pacheco's 5th long ball of the season.
The Moon Mammoths and Baysox wrap of the six-game series tomorrow at 1:35 PM. Lefty Joe Miller takes the mound for Erie, after his impressive night back on Tuesday.
