August 30, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: The Everett AquaSox fell to the Eugene Emeralds 8-4 during the final regular season home game of 2026 in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,369 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium on Sunday evening.
Matthew Ellis opened the scoring, powering a solo home run to right field to set the AquaSox ahead 1-0. Ellis’ long ball was his 17th of the season, continuing a campaign featuring impressive power skills. The score held until the top of the fourth when Eugene rallied for five runs, taking a four-run lead as Hayden Jatczak hit a three-run home run and Daniel Rogers hit a two-run home run.
The AquaSox bullpen held the score in check, keeping Eugene off the board for the next three innings. Jose Geraldo struck out three while collecting four scoreless outs, and Pedro Da Costa Lemos struck out two in one scoreless frame before the AquaSox added three more runs during the bottom of the seventh. Opening the scoring was Austin St. Laurent, who hit an RBI single after Brandon Eike doubled, and plating the frame’s final two runs on a two-run single was Carter Dorighi.
Eugene added an insurance run during the top of the eighth inning, taking a 6-4 lead on Jatczak’s RBI double that came after Kaeden Kent hit a leadoff double. They furthered their lead to 8-4 in the final frame as Cam Maldonado hit an RBI triple and Kent hit an RBI double.
Leading by four runs, Eugene right-hander Marty Gair held the AquaSox off of the board in the bottom of the ninth to secure his team’s victory.

LOOKING AHEAD: The AquaSox hit the road and travel east for a six-game series against the Spokane Indians, High-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies! The series is the Frogs’ final of the 2026 regular season, and Game One is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, at Avista Stadium. Everett currently trails the Vancouver Canadians by four games for a berth in the 2026 Northwest League Championship Series and, in the event the AquaSox qualify for the postseason, Game One would fall Tuesday, September 8, at Everett Memorial Stadium.
