July 31, 2026 — HILLSBORO, Ore.: The Everett AquaSox fell to the Hillsboro Hops 3-2 in 11 innings Friday night at Hops Ballpark, evening the the six-game series at two wins per club.
Arizona Diamondbacks No. 10 prospect Carlos Virahonda played hero for the Hops, knocking a walk-off RBI single to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning to send Hillsboro’s fans home happy. Ghost runner Kayson Cunningham, the Diamondbacks’ No. 2 prospect, crossed home plate to score the winning run on Virahonda’s swing.
Everett found scoring ground early, plating their only two runs of the game during the top of the third inning. Ricardo Cova hit a single that allowed Carter Dorighi to score on a throwing error, and Seattle Mariners No. 12 prospect Korbyn Dickerson drove home the other AquaSox run of the game by lining an RBI single into right field. In total, the Frogs’ offense tallied six hits during the game.
The Hops responded by tying the game in the bottom of the fourth, bringing home their first two runs as Diamondbacks No. 4 prospect JD Dix hit a two-run single to left field. The 2-2 tie held throughout the next six innings until Virahonda’s game-winning swing was delivered in extra innings.
AquaSox pitching was largely successful throughout the night, limiting the Hops to seven hits — only one of which went for extra bases. Mariners No. 17 prospect Colton Shaw dealt 5.1 innings of four-hit baseball, striking out four and walking one while allowing just two runs — each on Dix’s single. Left-hander Reid Easterly threw 2.2 shutout innings and struck out two, later turning the ball over to righty Christian Little. In 2.0 innings thrown, Little did not allow a hit and he struck out three while walking just one Hop.
Following the game’s outcome, Everett now holds a three-way tie with the Eugene Emeralds and Spokane Indians for first place in the Northwest League’s second-half standings. Each club currently sits at a 15-9 record.
