August 27, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Outfielder Carlos Jimenez sent 2,009 fans home happy on the final Coors Light Throwback Thursday of the season at Everett Memorial Stadium, demolishing a three-run, walk-off home run to power the Everett AquaSox to a 12-10 victory over the Eugene Emeralds.
Eugene’s offense powered a pair of home runs in the top of the first, taking an immediate 3-0 lead as Cam Maldonado blasted a two-run homer and Kaeden Kent smacked a solo home run. Everett found scoring ground of their own during the bottom of the first, driving in their first run as Brandon Eike hit an RBI single after Korbyn Dickerson hit an opposite-field, one-out double.
Everett cut Eugene’s lead down to one run during the third inning, making the score 4-3. Maldonado hit his second homer of the game to extend the Emeralds’ lead, but the AquaSox battled back as Luke Stevenson smashed a solo home run and Luis Suisbel hit an RBI double to bring the Frogs’ deficit down to one.
The Emeralds offense brought in two more runs during the top of the fifth as Maldonado hit a sacrifice fly and Kent hit an RBI single. They later added their seventh run in the next frame courtesy of Robert Hipwell, who hit a sacrifice fly after Walker Martin double and later advanced to third base on a groundout.
Everett again rallied, knotting the 7-7 during the bottom of the sixth. Fueling the rally was Anthony Donofrio’s sacrifice fly, Austin St. Laurent’s run-scored on a wild pitch, Carter Dorighi’s RBI single, and Jimenez’s RBI triple that was lined into the right field corner.
Maldonado broke the 7-7 knot in the top of the sixth, smacking his third home run of the ballgame to set the Emeralds ahead 9-7. His big swing sent the baseball the opposite direction, scoring Damian Bravo who reached base by doubling. Everett scored in each of the sixth and seventh innings, again tying the game — this time 9-9 — as St. Laurent hit into an RBI groundout and Dorighi scored on a wild pitch.
Kent brought in the Emeralds’ 10th run in the top of the ninth by hitting a solo home run, but the efforts proved to fall short. With two runners on base in the bottom half of the frame, Jimenez destroyed a three-run, walk-off home run to center field, sending fans home happy while the AquaSox achieved their second victory of the six-game Northwest League series.
With the home run, Jimenez has now totaled a 20-20 campaign, tallying 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.
