August 29, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Competing in front of a season-high 4,970 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium during Cal Raleigh Replica Jersey Giveaway Night presented by the Snohomish & Island County Labor Council, the Everett AquaSox fell to the Eugene Emeralds 12-9.
Each team found scoring ground during the second inning, making the score 3-3 early on. Robert Hipwell brought home the first runs of the game by smacking a two-run home run, and Jhonny Level furthered the Emeralds’ run total by lining an RBI double to right field after Daniel Rogers walked. Tying the game for the AquaSox was Indiana University alum Korbyn Dickerson, who smoked a bases-clearing double after Cesar Quintas walked, Axel Sanchez wore a pitch, and Carlos Jimenez walked.
Eugene took a 7-3 lead in the top of the third courtesy of Hayden Jatczak and Jose Ramos. With a pair of runners on base, Jatczak lined a three-run, inside-the-park home run into the right field corner, and Ramos furthered the lead by hitting an RBI single. Everett got one run back during the bottom part of the frame, reducing their deficit to three runs as Austin St. Laurent hit into an RBI groundout.
The AquaSox brought the game down to a one-run affair during the fifth inning, making the score 8-7 in favor of the Emeralds. Hipwell hit a solo homer for his second home run of the game, plating Eugene’s eighth run before Everett rallied for three of their own. Aiden Taurek crossed home plate on a wild pitch to score the Frogs’ fifth run overall, and Sanchez hit an RBI single that stayed in the infield to bring home his team’s sixth run. Cutting the Eugene lead down to just one run was Luke Stevenson, who drew a bases-loaded walk.
Eugene found their second four-run rally of the game during the top of the sixth, taking a 12-7 lead. Kaeden Kent hit into an RBI groundout to spark the rally, and Hipwell hit a bases-clearing double for his third extra-base hit of the night. Additionally, Hipwell raised his RBI total to six on the evening with his swing.
Everett brought home two more runs during the bottom of the eighth, making the score 12-9 late in the game. Brandon Eike reached on an error and St. Laurent doubled to place two runners in scoring position, and Eike later scored as Luis Suisbel hit into an RBI groundout. Quintas knocked in the ninth run, hitting an RBI single the opposite direction to plate St. Laurent.
Leading by three runs, the Emeralds kept the AquaSox out of the scoring column during the bottom of the ninth inning, locking down their 12-9 victory while handing the Frogs their second loss of the six-game series.
