August 16, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: The Spokane Indians emerged victorious in 10 innings on Sunday Fun Day, defeating the Everett AquaSox 8-7 in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,554 AquaSox faithful at Everett Memorial Stadium.
After three innings of play, the Indians held a narrow one-run lead. Kelvin Hidalgo’s RBI single to center field opened the scoring, and Spokane brought home their second and third runs as Ethan Hedges belted a two-run home run to left field. For the AquaSox, Anthony Donofrio smacked a two-run home run over the Engineered Sports overhead door in right center field for his ninth long ball of the year.
The Indians extended their lead during the top of the fourth, bringing home three more runs to take a 6-2 lead. Robert Calaz led off the frame by doubling, and Derek Bernard walked to place two runners on base with no outs recorded. Capitalizing on the opportunity was Alan Espinal, who smashed a three-run home run to left field for his seventh homer of the season.
Brandon Eike and the AquaSox cut into the Indians’ lead in the next frame as he crushed his 24th home run of 2026 over the Judd & Black manual scoreboard in right center field. Eike’s big swing brought in two runs, cutting the Frogs’ deficit to two runs. Reducing the Spokane lead down to just one run in the bottom of the sixth was Aiden Taurek, who hit an RBI single after Korbyn Dickerson singled and Luke Stevenson walked.
Everett rallied to tie the game, knotting things 6-6 during the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, Spokane pitcher Seth Clausen delivered a wild pitch that allowed Carter Dorighi to scamper home and score the tying run. Neither team scored during the ninth, sending the game into extra innings.
Spokane notched two runs during the top of the 10th, taking an 8-6 advantage. Roynier Hernandez roped an RBI double to kickstart the inning, and Tanner Thach added another RBI double to pad an insurance run. Everett battled back in the bottom half of the inning when Eike hit an RBI double, but Spokane’s pitching staff was able to escape the scoring threat and emerge victorious 8-7.
