August 11, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Led by a 13-hit, 14-walk performance at the plate, the Everett AquaSox smashed the Spokane Indians 16-2 on Tuesday night at Everett Memorial Stadium during the first match of the six-game Northwest League series.
The AquaSox found the scoring column after Adam Maier spun three scoreless innings to begin the game, taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Luke Stevenson demolished his 16th home run of the season to kickstart the efforts, and Austin St. Laurent hit an RBI single after both Brandon Eike and Matthew Ellis walked.
Spokane brought home their first run in the top of the fifth, cutting into the Frogs’ lead as Tanner Thach belted a solo homer to right center field. Everett responded in the bottom half of the frame, though, rallying for three runs to go ahead 5-1. St. Laurent and Luis Suisbel hit RBI singles in consecutive at-bats, and Cesar Quintas hit into an RBI groundout to wrap up the scoring burst.
Cameron Nelson hit a solo home run with one out in the top of the second to plate the Indians’ second run of the game. Everett responded to Nelson’s blast in a powerful manner, exploding for eight runs in the bottom half of the frame, chewing up 30 minutes of time to surge ahead 13-2. Eike hit an RBI single, Ellis knocked a two-run single, St. Laurent hit a two-run double to the opposite field, Korbyn Dickerson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Aiden Taurek knocked a two-run single, fueling the Frogs to a sizable advantage.
Everett added their final three runs during the bottom of the eighth inning, jumping ahead 16-2. Taurek poked an RBI double to the opposite field, and Eike added a two-run single to raise his RBI total in the game to three. Keeping Spokane out of the scoring column across the final three innings of the game were left-hander Reid Easterly and right-hander Pedro Da Costa Lemos. Easterly dealt two shutout, hitless innings while striking out four, and Lemos added one scoreless frame to lock down the win.
Maier turned in a strong outing as the AquaSox starting pitcher for the evening, allowing just three hits in six innings of work. The native of Vancouver, British Columbia, also struck out four and walked none while improving his record this season to 7-3.
From the batter’s box, St. Laurent recorded a career-high five hits to go along with four RBIs, and eight of Everett’s nine hitters collected an RBI. Additionally, the AquaSox drew 14 walks, displaying a disciplined batter’s eye throughout the night.
