August 12, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Despite facing a late rally from their opposition, the Everett AquaSox snuck by the Spokane Indians 6-5 at Everett Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night in front of 1,820 fans during Tulalip Bingo & Slots Baseball Bingo.
Carlos Jimenez opened the night’s scoring, launching a leadoff home run to begin the bottom half of the first and get the Frogs on the board. Spokane clawed their way to the lead across the next two frames, though, plating one run in each of the second and third. Wilder Dalis delivered his first homer with the Indians to tie the game, and Tanner Thach had the go-ahead knock by way of hitting an RBI single after Roldy Brito singled and stole second base.
Matthew Ellis provided the AquaSox a one-run lead during the bottom of the fourth inning, delivering a two-run home run for his 15th long ball of the year after Ricardo Cova doubled. Ellis’ homer was blasted to the opposite-field, bouncing off of the foul pole to remain a fair ball.
Furthering the Frogs’ advantage in the bottom of the fifth was the duo of Brandon Eike and Cova, who combined to bring home three runs. Eike hit a standup, two-run triple, and Cova lined an RBI single to center field to ultimately score Eike. Everett’s four-run lead did not last overly long as Thach hammered a solo home run to right field, leading off the top of the sixth in scoring fashion.
Spokane rallied to cut their deficit to just one run during the seventh inning, totaling two runs to make the score 6-5. Roynier Hernandez walked, allowing Brito to slice an RBI double into the left field corner. Brito later scored the Indians’ fifth run, advancing to third base on a wild pitch before successfully stealing home.
Everett ultimately locked down the victory as right-hander Christian Little held Spokane out of the scoring column across the final two frames of the game. With the victory, the AquaSox advance to 2-0 during the six-game series against the Indians, for whom they are battling with for a berth in the 2026 Northwest League Championship Series.
