Eight Players From 2026 Signing Class Join Woodpeckers

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers, in conjunction with the Houston Astros, have added first round pick Logan Hughes along with seven other members of the 2026 signing class to the active roster. 

Hughes was drafted No. 17 overall in the first round this year by Houston following a consensus All-American season at Texas Tech where he hit .375 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI for the Red Raiders. Other position players joining Hughes on the Fayetteville roster include infielders Kam Durnin and Owen Piasecki, along with outfielder Owen Nowak. 

Fayetteville has also added four new pitchers from the 2026 signing class to the roster, headlined by 10th round pick Tazwell Butler out of Kansas State. Right-handed arms Tazwell Butler, John Carver, Carson Estridge and Mick Uebelhor make up the newest group of pitchers joining the Fayetteville staff.

The Woodpeckers are currently on the road for a six-game series against the Salem RidgeYaks and return home on Tuesday, August 11th for a six-game home set.
