FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 17, 2026) - Former Fort Myers Mighty Mussel Dameury Pena was named a Florida State League All-Star for the 2026 MiLB season.
Pena began his campaign in Fort Myers and slashed .322/.393/.381 with a .774 OPS across 58 games before a promotion to High-A Cedar Rapids. The 2B/LF led the FSL and the Minnesota Twins’ minor league system with 77 hits at the time of his promotion.
He is the Mighty Mussels fourth All-Star since the franchise switched to Single-A in 2020, joining LHP Jaylen Nowlin (2022), C Noah Cardenas (2022) and DH Ricardo Olivar (2023).
Pena began his age 20 season by being named the first FSL Player of the Week after leading the Mussels to a 5-and-1 series against the Jupiter Hammerheads. He ranked first in the FSL with a .625 average, .714 OBP, and 1.402 OPS throughout the week.
After 25 games in Cedar Rapids, Pena was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays as part of the package for MLB reliever Jeff Hoffman. He then returned to the FSL and batted .318 in 12 games with the Dunedin Blue Jays. Pena totaled 91 hits and 21 stolen bases in 70 FSL games, batting .321. He ended his season with Toronto's High-A affiliate, the Vancouver Canadians.
