Freeman, who made his Major League debut with the Rangers last July, was placed on the 10-day injured list in late March due to a lumbar stress reaction. He joins Frisco after four games on a rehab assignment with the ACL Rangers.

In 36 MLB games last season, Freeman lifted three home runs and drove in 15 runs, all while striking out just 19 times. The 25-year-old hit .336 to win the Triple-A batting title in 97 games with Triple-A Round Rock in 2025 as well, with 25 doubles and 19 homers. His .931 OPS ranked ninth among all hitters at the Triple-A level who played at least 90 games. He was named the 2025 Tom Greive Rangers Minor League Player of the Year.

Freeman was a Texas League All-Star with Frisco in 2024, with a league-leading 49 extra-base hits, including 33 doubles – the most in the Texas League. The 25-year-old drilled a then-career-high 14 home runs and was also named the Rangers’ Minor League Defender of the Year.

The Pomona, California native was a fourth-round pick by the Rangers in 2019 out of Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Freeman’s brother, Tyler, is a utility player with the Colorado Rockies after playing three seasons with the Cleveland Guardians.
