FRISCO, Texas (September 8, 2026) - On Tuesday, the Texas Rangers announced that outfielder Dylan Dreiling was named their August Minor League Player of the Month.
Dreiling, 23, had a hit in all 20 games he played in for Frisco in August and slashed .429/.484/.667/1.151 with four home runs and 17 RBI. A Hays, Kansas native, Dreiling led all Rangers farmhands with 36 total hits and 56 total bases in the month.
Dreiling’s .429 batting average became the best in recorded Texas League history (since 2005) among hitters with at least 95 appearances in a calendar month, passing San Antonio’s Mike Baxter, who hit .426 in May of 2009. Dreiling is only the second RoughRider since 2005 to bat .400 across 95+ PA in a month, joining Anthony Webster, who did so in May of 2006.
Across 20 games in the field, Dreiling also did not make a single error in August. He stole two bases without being caught as well.
Dreiling, Texas’ second-round selection in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Tennessee, leads the RoughRiders in batting average (.314), home runs (22), RBI (83) and OPS (.911) for the full season.
