FRISCO, Texas (September 1, 2026) - After seven runs allowed in the first two innings, the Frisco RoughRiders fell 9-5 to the Amarillo Sod Poodles in the first game of a six-game series Tuesday night at Riders Field.
With D.J. McCarty (0-3) on the mound for Frisco (28-30, 67-59), three runs hit the board in the first inning for Amarillo (34-24, 70-56), including a two-run home run for Druw Jones. After the Riders scored in the bottom of the first on a line drive single from Rafe Perich, Amarillo added four more in the second to make it 7-1.
In the bottom of the third inning, Dylan Dreiling muscled a two-run homer of his own out to deep center field, cutting the deficit to 7-3.
Down 9-3 into the ninth, Sebastian Walcott mashed a home run to deep left-center field and Perich followed with an RBI single, driving in Dreiling to make it 9-5 before the final out cut the comeback short.
Notes to Know:
- Walcott has now homered in three consecutive games for the first time in his Double-A career and has six on the season in 28 games with Frisco.
- Dreiling’s home run was his 22nd on the year and extended his hitting streak to 22 games in the process – the longest active streak in Minor League Baseball. He had three total hits on the night.
Down a game in the series, Frisco will meet Amarillo for game two of the set Wednesday night. Neither team has announced a probable starter for the 7:05 p.m. game at Riders Field.
