FRISCO, Texas (August 22, 2026) - After entering the eighth inning in a scoreless tie, the Frisco RoughRiders fell 4-1 to the Wichita Wind Surge Friday night at Riders Field.
With Aidan Curry (3-3) on the mound, Wichita (25-25, 50-67) surged ahead, scoring three in the first before Curry could finish the inning. Bryan Magdaleno entered for Frisco (24-26, 63-55) and Jake Rucker hit a three-run home run in the second for a 6-0 Wind Surge lead after two frames.
Between the third and fourth innings, Frisco scored twice on a Malcolm Moore home run and a Theo Hardy RBI double to draw the deficit to 6-2. Then, Caden Kendle hit a home run for Wichita to give the Wind Surge a five-run lead.
Yeison Morrobel and Arturo Disla contributed RBI hits late in the game to bring the game to 7-5 and Frisco brought the potential tying run to the dish in the ninth before Mitch Mueller (3-0) nabbed the final out.
Notes to Know:
- Dylan Dreiling extended his season-long hitting streak to 14 games with an infield single in the sixth inning.
- Moore had a double and then his first Riders Field home run since July 1. The first-round catcher now has 17 home runs on the season between Frisco and High-A Hub City.
- Disla had three hits, including his two-RBI single in the sixth.
After falling in the first five games of the series, Frisco turns to LHP Blake Townsend (4-5, 4.98) against RHP Sam Armstrong (7-8, 4.58) in a 7:05 p.m. start at Riders Field Sunday Night.
