SPRINGDALE, Arkansas (August 28, 2026) - After winning consecutive games, the Frisco RoughRiders could not make it three in a row, falling 5-3 to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Friday night at Arvest Ballpark.
Frisco (27-28, 66-57) flew to the lead instantly, as Sebastian Walcott obliterated a leadoff home run against Drew Beam (8-10). It traveled 426 feet down the left field lead to plant the Riders ahead 1-0. Northwest Arkansas (23-32, 52-70) bit back with two runs in the first inning against Bryan Magdaleno.
From there, Frisco tied the game 2-2 in the third on an RBI double from Dylan Dreiling, but the Naturals launched back into the lead in the bottom half with a two-run home run from Sam Kulasingam off Brock Porter (1-2) that made it 4-2.
With Frisco down 5-2 into the fifth, Walcott doubled and scored on a wild pitch to draw the deficit to two runs again, but the RoughRiders ultimately couldn’t come all the way back and Zachary Cawyer set them down in order in the ninth to grab his fifth save of the season.
Notes to Know:
- Walcott’s home run was his first in 15 games and he finished with his 11th multi-hit game in 26 tries with the RoughRiders since coming off the injured list for the first time.
- Dreiling extended his hitting streak to 19 games with his RBI double.
- Joey Danielson covered three scoreless innings for Frisco, including a three-pitch bottom of the eighth.
Frisco shifts its focus to Saturday now, with RHP Aidan Curry (3-3, 5.49) set to toss against RHP Grant Gambrell (1-2, 4.91) in a 7:05 p.m. start at Arvest Ballpark.
