FRISCO, Texas (September 4, 2026) - After an Arturo Disla first-inning home run, the Frisco RoughRiders did not score again in a 4-2 loss to the Amarillo Sod Poodles Friday night at Riders Field.
Following a Sebastian Walcott leadoff walk against Brian Curley (3-3), Disla tore into a pitch and sent it soaring over the left-field wall to give Frisco (30-31, 69-60) a 2-0 lead. Amarillo (35-26, 71-58) went scoreless in the first three innings against Austin Roberts.
The Sod Poodles scored against Leandro Lopez in the fourth on a Ben McLaughlin RBI single to cut the deficit to 2-1. They took the lead in the sixth with RBI from McLaughlin and Danny Serretti against J’Briell Easley (0-1) to take a 3-2 lead.
Frisco had two runners thrown out at home plate in the final two innings and Sawyer Hawks stranded a runner in the ninth for his first Amarillo save.
Notes to Know:
- Disla has homered in consecutive games and now has 16 as a RoughRider.
- Walcott extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single.
- Roberts pitched a season-high three innings and threw a season-high 49 pitches.
The series continues Saturday night at Riders Field, as Frisco faces RHP Wellington Aracena (0-0, 7.23) in a 7:05 p.m. start. The Riders have not yet announced a probable starting pitcher.
