FRISCO, Texas (September 18, 2026) - After a historic season, the Frisco RoughRiders 2026 campaign came to a close with an 8-7 loss to the Amarillo Sod Poodles in their winner-take-all game three of the Texas League South Division Series.
Amarillo (2-1) made its presence felt from the first pitch, plating six runs against Blake Townsend (0-1) in the top of the first inning. The Frisco (1-2) starter surrendered six consecutive baserunners to begin the ballgame, as the Sod Poodles struck with RBI hits from Ben McLaughlin, Druw Jones and Jean Walters.
Down 6-0 into the third inning, the RoughRiders responded with a rally against Josh Grosz, culminating in a two-strike grand slam from Rafe Perich that cut the deficit to 6-4. Then, in the bottom of the fifth, Gleider Figuereo made it a one-run game with a sacrifice fly.
As Frisco’s offense mounted a comeback, Ismael Agreda dominated out of the RoughRider bullpen, firing 4.2 scoreless innings on just three hits. At one point, the right-hander set down 12 hitters in a row in what was his second career Double-A outing.
With Agreda out of the game, Amarillo plated two more runs in the top of the ninth, meaning Dylan Dreiling’s two-run bottom-of-the-ninth home run just made it a one-run game again and Alfred Morrillo survived the blow to pick up the save.

- Frisco fell one win short of a berth in the 2026 Texas League Championship Series.
- Perich and Dreiling, who combined for 38 home runs in the regular season, left lasting blows in their final games of 2026.
