FRISCO, Texas (September 6, 2026) - In their final home game of the regular season, the Frisco RoughRiders beat the Amarillo Sod Poodles 3-2 and split their six-game series Sunday afternoon at Riders Field.
Amarillo (36-27, 72-59) plated two in the first on a two-run home run from Avery Owusu-Asiedu against Thomas Ireland. Frisco (31-32, 70-61) bit back with a Sebastian Walcott solo home run in the bottom of the first to make it 2-1 against David Hagaman (1-2).
Frisco took the lead with two runs in the fourth inning with back-to-back RBI singles from Marcus Lee Sang and Luke Hanson to go up 3-2.
The Frisco bullpen, comprised of Josh Trentadue (4-2), Jonathan Brand, Joey Danielson and Bryan Magdaleno, blanked Amarillo the rest of the way. Magdaleno earned his third save in the one-run Riders win.
Notes to Know:
- Ireland covered 4+ innings in his start, surrendering just the two first-inning runs.
- Walcott’s home run was his third of the series and third leadoff home run in the last two weeks.
- With the win, Frisco secured its third consecutive winning season at home, finishing 35-34 at Riders Field in the regular season.
Frisco has Monday off before beginning the final series of the regular season on the road against the Wichita Wind Surge. The six-game set starts Tuesday, September 8 at Equity Bank Park.
