FRISCO, Texas (August 11, 2026) - After falling behind 7-0, the Frisco RoughRiders rallied back, but dropped game one of a six-game series to the San Antonio Missions 7-4 Tuesday night at Riders Field.
After both teams went scoreless in the first inning, San Antonio (19-21, 50-59) struck for three runs against Ben Anderson (2-5) in the second on RBI hits from Romeo Sanabria and Luis Verdugo. The Missions plated runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth against the Frisco (20-20, 59-48) starter and took a 7-0 lead in the seventh.
Missions starter Ian Koenig (5-9) fired seven scoreless innings at Riders Field for the second time this season, holding Frisco off the board with just five hits allowed.
In the eighth inning, Corey Joyce teed off on a solo home run and, down 7-3 into the ninth, Max Wagner led off with another blast, but the Riders ultimately dropped the opener.
Notes to Know:
- After a season-long five-game homer drought, the Riders did hit two long balls before the night ended. Wagner set a new career high with 14 on the season.
- Thomas Ireland covered two scoreless innings in relief to keep the game close.
Now down 1-0 in the series, Frisco turns its attention to Wednesday with RHP D.J. McCarty (0-2, 11.37) throwing against LHP Fernando Sanchez (1-2, 6.23) in a 7:05 p.m. start at Riders Field. Wednesday is another Wine Wednesday presented by Landon Winery with half-priced wine through the 7th inning at Riders Field!
