FRISCO, Texas (July 21, 2026) - In a come-from-behind effort Tuesday night at Nelson Wolff Stadium, the Frisco RoughRiders couldn’t quite muster enough offense late, falling 7-5 in their series opener against the San Antonio Missions
Following a Frainyer Chavez leadoff double against San Antonio (11-11, 42-49) starter Eric Yost, Frisco (12-10, 51-39) pounced first with an RBI single from Dylan Dreiling for a 1-0 lead.
After Ben Anderson (0-4) struck out six of the first nine men he faced, the Missions tagged him for five runs across the third and fourth innings to grab a 5-2 lead.
Then, in the sixth, Malcolm Moore launched a mammoth solo home run for the RoughRiders against Bernard Jose (1-0), but Francisco Acuna lifted a two-run shot for a San Antonio 7-3 advantage.
Frisco plated two runs in the ninth inning on a walk and a wild pitch to draw close, but Harry Gustin entered and stranded the bases loaded for his second save of the season.
Notes to Know:
- Dreiling’s RBI single extended his hitting streak to nine games. He needs a hit in two more games to tie his season-long 11 game hitting streak from May.
- Moore’s home run traveled 413 feet to right-center field and was his fifth of the year in Frisco across just 23 games.
- Anderson ended up one strikeout shy of tying his career high of eight.
On Wednesday, Frisco aims to even the series, facing LHP Jamie Hitt (1-0, 4.50) in a 7:05 p.m. start from Nelson Wolff Stadium. The Riders have not yet announced a starter.
