Riders explode on offense, win fifth straight game

Riders score 10 runs in a game for the sixth time in April

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (April 29, 2026) - The Frisco RoughRiders jumped out in front early and never looked back in 10-4 win over the Corpus Christi Hooks from Whataburger Field. 

Frisco (13-10) scored first in the initial inning on a bases-loaded balk from MLB rehabber Nate Pearson (0-1) for the Hooks (10-13), making it 1-0. 

In the second, a Dylan Dreiling sacrifice fly and an Orlando Martinez RBI double increased the lead to 3-0, before Ian Moller roped a third-inning, two-run single to bump the advantage to 5-0.

After the Hooks countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, Keith Jones II crushed a two-run blast into right-center for his third home run of the year. Corpus Christi plated two more in the bottom of the fifth, but Frisco reached a 10-4 lead with three in the eighth, highlighted by a Martinez two-run double.

Austin Roberts (1-1) threw 3.0 scoreless innings to earn his first win of the year out of the bullpen. 

Notes to Know:

  • Martinez went 2-for-4 with two doubles and has now collected five doubles in the first two games of this series. 
  • The RoughRiders have scored 10 runs for the sixth time in April, the first time doing so since April of 2023.
  • Frisco has now won five straight games, their longest winning streak of the year.

The RoughRiders meet with Corpus Christi for game three of their six-game series at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29th. RHP Winston Santos (0-1, 13.50) takes the ball for the RoughRiders against RHP James Hicks (1-2, 3.79).
