FRISCO, Texas (August 4, 2026) - The Frisco RoughRiders unleashed an avalanche of runs on the Midland RockHounds on Tuesday night, winning 14-4 from Momentum Bank Ballpark in the series opener.
Frisco (19-15, 58-44) fell behind early, as Midland (15-19, 47-55) put up three runs in the first against starter Ben Anderson (2-4).
Arturo Disla promptly answered back for the Riders, blasting a two-run homer in the third and pulling Frisco to 3-2.
After another run for the RockHounds in the bottom of the third, Frisco rattled off 12 unanswered runs the rest of the way.
Max Wagner, Rafe Perich and Dylan Dreiling all had fourth-inning RBI singles against Jay Dill (0-1) to take a 5-4 lead. Malcolm Moore then crushed a solo home run in the fifth before a two-run Wagner double extended the lead to 8-4.
A Moore RBI single in the sixth, Wagner-scoring wild pitch in the seventh and Keith Jones II RBI single in the eighth brought in three more runs before Perich, Dreiling and Disla all plated runs in the ninth to blow the game open at 14-4.
Notes to Know:
- The Riders scored their first 11 runs with two outs and went 9-for-21 with runners in scoring position.
- Wagner tied a career high with four hits, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.
- Everyone in the Riders' lineup collected at least one hit, with six players racking up multi-hit affairs.
The RoughRiders meet the RockHounds for game two of the series at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5th in Midland. RHP D.J. McCarty (0-1, 10.80) goes for Frisco against LHP Jamie Arnold (4-5, 4.08).
