FRISCO, Texas (September 12, 2026) - After a 14-run performance Friday, the Frisco RoughRiders scored just one run in the ninth inning and fell 5-1 to the Wichita Wind Surge Saturday night at Equity Bank Park.
Wichita (30-38, 54-80) scored in the first inning for the fifth straight game in the series, plating two against Frisco (33-35, 72-64) starter Aidan Curry (3-4) on an RBI single from Kyle DeBarge.
The Wind Surge extended their lead to 4-0 with two runs in the second inning off Zach Bryant on a Marek Houston single and a Khadim Diaw sacrifice fly. They made it 5-0 on a Graham Brown single in the fifth.
After being shut out by Adrian Bohorquez (1-1), Frisco scored for the first time in the ninth inning, when Arturo Disla lined a solo home run over the left field fence that made it 5-1.
Notes to Know:
- Disla has homered in consecutive games for the second time in the last two weeks and now has 18 home runs with the RoughRiders.
- Curry threw just one inning in his final start of the regular season and was followed by D.J. McCarty, who tossed 3.2 innings for the Riders.
In the regular season finale Sunday, the Riders will aim for a series split with LHP Thomas Ireland (1-0, 8.51) taking the hill against RHP Preston Johnson (1-3, 3.89) in a 1:05 p.m. CT start at Equity Bank Park.
