FRISCO, Texas (August 19, 2026) - Despite two big game-tying rallies, the Frisco RoughRiders dropped their second consecutive one-run game to the Wichita Wind Surge, falling 9-8 at Riders Field Wednesday night.

Wichita (22-25, 47-67) jumped ahead early with four runs in the first two frames against Ben Anderson, including three in the first. After being shut down by Riley Quick in the first two innings, Frisco (24-23, 63-52) plated its first run on a wild pitch in the third to draw the score to 4-1.

Down 5-1 in the fifth, the Riders launched into action when Quick departed and scored four times to tie the game, with the inning highlighted by a Yeison Morrobel two-run triple.

Following three runs in the top of the seventh by Wichita, Frisco tied the game again in the bottom of the eighth with a three-run home run jolted out by Max Wagner off Mitch Mueller (2-0).

Wichita rallied to score a run off Wilian Bormie (6-1) in the ninth, however, and held on to win.

Notes to Know:

  • Dylan Dreiling extended his hitting streak to 13 games, now the longest of his career and the longest by a RoughRider this season.
  • Wagner, on his 25th birthday, homered in his second straight game and extended his career high with his 18th of the season.

Down two games to none in the series, Frisco is expected to throw MLB rehab RHP Jack Leiter against RHP Preston Johnson (1-3, 4.11) in Thursday’s 7:05 contest at Riders Field, seeking its first win of the week.
