FRISCO, Texas (August 14, 2026) - With three eighth-inning homers and a season-high 22 total hits, the Frisco RoughRiders fought all the way back from down six runs in a 14-12 win over the San Antonio Missions Friday night at Riders Field.
San Antonio (20-23, 51-61) ambushed Frisco (22-21, 61-50) with two solo home runs in the first two innings from Alex McCoy and Albert Fabian. But, in the third, Arturo Disla smoked a two-run home run over the right field wall to give the Riders a 3-2 lead.
With Frisco up 4-2 in the fifth, the Missions scored eight runs across the next two innings with three more home runs, including two from Braedon Karpathios. Karpathios hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning and a grand slam in the sixth and the Missions led 10-4.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Riders responded with four runs on RBI hits from Yeison Morrobel and Marcus Lee Sang to draw the deficit to 10-8. McCoy homered again for the Missions who jumped back up by four in the eighth.
As Frisco came to bat again, Morrobel started the inning with his fourth hit of the night, Keith Jones II bounded a single back up the middle and Lee Sang blasted a three-run home run to left field to make it a one-run game – his fourth hit.
Three batters later, Max Wagner hit a high drive off Garrett Hawkins (0-1) that cleared the fence and gave Frisco a 13-12 lead. Immediately, Dylan Dreiling joined the party and went back-to-back to make it 14-12.
The Missions put two runners on in the ninth inning, but Thomas Ireland (1-0) induced a ground ball out to lock down the win and put a stamp on the comeback effort.
Notes to Know:
- Frisco set a season high with 22 hits in a game that included 10 combined home runs. No team in the Texas League has had more than 22 hits in a game this season.
- Wagner and Dreiling have combined to hit five home runs across the first four games of the week and 35 on the season.
- Frisco’s 92 runs in the eighth inning are the most in the Texas League and second-most in all of Double-A. Frisco has scored 11 runs in the eighth inning this week alone.
With the series now tied at two games a side, Aidan Curry (3-2, 5.08) is expected to toss the ball for Frisco Saturday night and duel against RHP Matthew Watson (0-2, 7.98) in a 7:05 p.m. start from Riders Field.
