SPRINGDALE, Arkansas (August 30, 2026) - Behind a laser beam home run from Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott, the Frisco RoughRiders downed the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 7-6 Sunday afternoon at Arvest Ballpark to earn a series split
After the first 11 batters combined were retired, Northwest Arkansas (24-33, 53-71) struck first on a solo home run from Justin Johnson for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. In the top of the third, Walcott put Frisco (28-29, 67-58) on the board with a 115 mph line drive single to tie the game.
Spencer Nivens doubled in two to put the Naturals up 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning, before the Riders took the lead right back with three runs in the fifth, including bases-loaded walks by Max Wagner and Malcolm Moore.
The former RoughRider Jorge Alfaro lit up a three-run home run to plant Northwest Arkansas in front 6-4 in the bottom of the fifth, but Walcott walloped his two-run homer in the sixth to tie things back up at 6-6.
Luke Hanson gave Frisco the 7-6 lead for good against Anthony Simonelli (0-1) with a safety squeeze in the seventh after Janser Lara (6-2) pitched a scoreless sixth. Eric Loomis locked down the game with his fourth save of the season.
Notes to Know:
- Walcott finished the week with nine hits and two home runs, driving in three in the finale.
- Dylan Dreiling and Yeison Morrobel extended their hitting streaks to 21 and 11 games respectively.
- Hanson picked up his second Double-A RBI in the win, providing the eventual winning bunt.
After a series split in their penultimate road trip of 2026, Frisco takes a day off Monday before kicking off the final homestand of the season, with six games against the Amarillo Sod Poodles starting Tuesday, September 1 at 7:05 p.m. from Riders Field.
