First Responders Day Caps Memorable 2026 Home Schedule at Fluor Field

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Drive closed out the home portion of the 2026 regular season in memorable fashion on Sunday, August 30, as a record crowd of 7,107 fans packed Fluor Field for the Drive’s annual First Responders Day.

From start to finish, the afternoon served as a celebration of the brave men and women who serve and protect the Upstate each and every day. The Greenville Drive would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all local first responders for their courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the Greenville community.

The celebration was made even more special thanks to the tremendous support of 79 First Responder Boosters, whose contributions helped the Drive make a significant impact beyond the ballpark. Through their support, the Drive was proud to donate $6,000 each to Upstate Warrior Solution and Shriners Children’s Hospital of Greenville, for a total of $12,000 supporting two organizations that make a difference throughout the Upstate.

On the field, the Drive sent the home crowd out in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 12-11 victory over the Rome Emperors. The 7,107 fans in attendance established a new Fluor Field attendance record and provided an electric atmosphere for the final home game of the 2026 regular season.

The action continued immediately following the Drive game with another First Responders Day tradition — the annual Heroes Softball Game between Greenville Police and Greenville Fire.

As has become customary, the matchup came down to the wire. Greenville Police ultimately held off Greenville Fire for a 13-12 victory, earning bragging rights for the sixth consecutive year.

The Drive extends its sincere appreciation to both Greenville Police and Greenville Fire for participating in the annual game and, more importantly, for everything their departments and fellow first responders do for the Greenville community throughout the year.
