The calendar is getting shorter, the games are getting bigger, and the Greenville Drive are right in the middle of the South Atlantic League playoff hunt.

With the final weeks of the 2026 regular season approaching, every game — and every swing, and every pitch — carries a little more weight. The Drive enter the stretch run just a half-game behind the Winston-Salem Dash for second place in the Southern Division’s second-half standings, putting Greenville within striking distance of a postseason berth.

And this year, second place could be enough.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods captured the Southern Division’s first-half championship and currently sit atop the division again in the second half. Should Bowling Green also win the second-half title, the second-place finisher in the second-half standings would earn the division’s other playoff berth.

That has the Drive firmly in the race — with plenty of baseball still to play.

Greenville currently has three games remaining in its road series against the last-place Hub City Spartanburgers before returning home to Fluor Field on Tuesday, August 18th.  And once the Drive get home, they’ll be staying awhile.

Greenville will play its next 12 games at Fluor Field, beginning with perhaps the biggest series of the season: six games against the team directly ahead of the Drive in the standings, the Winston-Salem Dash, from August 18th-23rd.

With Greenville and Winston-Salem separated by only a half-game, the six-game showdown gives the Drive an opportunity to take the playoff race into their own hands.

Following the Dash series, the Drive welcome the Rome Emperors to Fluor Field for six more games from August 25th-30th.

Greenville then closes the regular season with one final test on the road, traveling to Bowling Green for a six-game series against the Hot Rods from September 1st-6th.

If Greenville is going to make its move, the offense appears to be hitting its stride at exactly the right moment.

The Drive ranked fourth in the South Atlantic League in team batting during July, building momentum as the playoff race began to tighten.

In August, they’ve taken another step.  Greenville currently leads the South Atlantic League in team batting for the month of August.  With the offense producing and a dozen consecutive home games waiting at Fluor Field, the stage is set for an exciting finish to the regular season.

The Drive will need plenty of support from the Fluor Field faithful during this crucial 12-game homestand — and Rallyville Lager is giving fans another reason to join the rally.

During all 12 of the Drive’s remaining regular-season home games, cans of Rallyville Lager, the Official Beer of the Greenville Drive, will be available for the special price of just $5!

The standings are tight. The bats are hot. And some of the biggest games of the season are coming to Fluor Field.

Grab a Rallyville, cheer on the Drive, and help Greenville make its push for the postseason.  Let’s Rally Towards the Playoffs together with a Rallyville at Fluor Field!
