
AKRON, Ohio (Aug. 19, 2026) — The RubberDucks jumped out in front of the Senators 5-0 in through the first three innings, but the Senators came back to win 10-6. Harrisburg scored in every inning from the fourth through the ninth, including a four-run seventh to take the lead.
The Sens blew an early lead Tuesday night but returned the favor Wednesday.
Akron scored two in the first on Jace LaViolette's two-run homer off RHP Josh Randall to lead 2-0. Another two scored in the second on an Alex Mooney two-RBI double.
Nolan Schubart homered in the third to put the 'Ducks in front 5-0.
Randall ended up going 4.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
RHP Holden Powell (W, 3-0) followed Randall with 1.2 scoreless innings. He did not allow a hit, walked one and struck out four.
Meanwhile, Akron starter Ryan Degges retired the first 10 Senators hitters of the night before the comeback started.
Devin Fitz-Gerald homered to straightaway center in the fourth to start chipping into the deficit.
In the fifth, Devin Ortiz hit a sac fly to deep leftfield to score Kevin Bazzell and trail 5-2.
Next inning, the Sens had men on first and second with one out after Branden Boissiere doubled to the opposite field and Elijah Green reached on an error. Ethan Petry drove in Boissiere with a double of his own.
The next hitter, Kevin Bazzell, scored Green on a sac fly and the Senators trailed only 5-4.
Harrisburg sent eight men to the plate in the seventh inning. Fitz-Gerald drove in Cortland Lawson with a single to tie the game 5-5. After Boissiere drew a walk to load the bases, Elijah Green drew another walk to score Nick Mitchell from third.
The Sens led for the first time in the game.
With two runs already in and two outs, Bazzell hit a two-RBI single to stretch the new lead to 8-5.
The RubberDucks got a run back off RHP Jhancarlos Lara in the bottom of the seventh to trail 8-6.
The Senators responded with Sam Brown's leadoff homer in the eighth to push the lead to 9-6. RHP Kendeglys Virguez held the score with a shutout bottom of the eighth, striking out one.
Ethan Petry added insurance in the ninth with a long solo homer to lead 10-6. Petry's now driven in 15 runs over his last seven games.
RHP Kyle Luckham locked down the win, retiring the side in order in the ninth.
Harrisburg goes for back-to-back wins Thursday night with first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
