AKRON, Ohio (Aug. 23, 2026) — The RubberDucks launched five home runs against the Senators in an 8-4 win Sunday afternoon. Akron won the series with Harrisburg three games to two.
The 'Ducks led 7-0 after five innings.
For the second time this week, Ryan Cesarini homered on the first pitch from a Senators starter. He took RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (L, 0-4) deep to open the scoring.
Dean Curley added a two-run homer in the third to lead 3-0.
Then Cesarini homered again, hitting a two-run shot in the fourth inning to push the lead to 5-0. He hit three home runs in the series.
Tejeda left after four, allowing five runs on five hits, four walks and three strikeouts.
RHP Sandy Gaston came on for the fifth and surrendered solo homers to each Nolan Schubart and Luke Hill to stretch the Akron lead to 7-0. Schubart also hit three home runs in the series.
Harrisburg got on the board in the sixth. Nick Mitchell drove in Cortland Lawson with an RBI single. Mitchell later scored in the inning on a balk.
The Sens left two in scoring position to end the frame and trailed 7-2.
RHP Ben Grable allowed his first run as a Senator in the bottom of the sixth. He allowed a hit, walked three and struck out two.
Trailing 8-2 in the seventh, scored two more on another Mitchell RBI single and Devin Fitz-Gerald's sac fly to cut the deficit to 8-4.
RHP Joe Glassey came on for the bottom of the seventh and retired the side in order. In seven innings of work for Harrisburg, Glassey's not allowed a hit or run with only one walk and seven strikeouts.
RHP Jhancarlos Lara followed with a scoreless eighth.
The Senators are back in action Tuesday night, Aug. 25, hosting the Chesapeake Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) for a six-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
