Jameson & Perez Lead Yard Goats to Win

Manchester, NH-  The Yard Goats beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-2 on Tuesday night at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Yard Goats reliever Fisher Jameson retired nine of ten batters faced in three scoreless innings to earn the victory. Andy Perez and Jacob Humphrey each had three hits as the Yard Goats snapped a three-game losing streak.  

The Yard Goats scored two runs in the second inning against Fisher Cats starter Austin Cates.  Jared Thomas led off with a single and then Hartford loaded the bases as Braylen Wimmer and Jack O’Dowd each got hit by pitches. Dyan Jorge followed with a single, and Thomas scored, giving the Yard Goats a 1-0 lead. The Yard Goats made it 2-0 on a sacrifice fly by Roynier Hernandez in his Hartford debut.

The Fisher Cats tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against Yard Goats starter Stu Flesland III. Alexis Hernandez cracked a two-run double to left center field, scoring Dub Gleed and Aaron Parker to tie the game at 2-2.

The Yard Goats took a 3-2 lead with a run in the fifth inning off Cates. Andy Perez led off the inning with a double. Jacob Humphrey singled with a bunt, and third baseman Tucker Toman threw the ball past the first baseman, and Perez scored, giving Hartford a 3-2 lead.

Hartford added two runs in the eighth inning with the big hit coming on an RBI double by Cole Messina, and three more in the ninth with Dyan Jorge coming up with a two-run single.  

Yard Goats reliever Fisher Jameson was outstanding and fired three scoreless innings. He retired nine of ten batters faced from the fifth through seventh innings and had four strikeouts. Hunter Mann and Carlos Torres followed with two scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth.  

The Yard Goats continue the six-game road trip on Wednesday night at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. The game will be broadcast on the free Audacy App, iHeartRadio app, Yard Goats website and streamed on MiLB.TV.
