SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Fifth Third Park will host two Carolina college baseball powerhouses this fall when South Carolina and Duke meet for an exhibition Sunday, November 1. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. It’s a can’t miss matchup between the Gamecocks and Blue Devils — the only opportunity for fans in the Upstate to see two premier programs before the calendar turns to spring.
Single game tickets will be available beginning on September 30. Group rates and suites/specialty group areas will also be made available. “One of the goals for this ballpark was to turn it into a premier destination for amateur baseball,” said Spartanburgers Assistant General Manager Luke Feisal. We are ecstatic to host these two great universities at Fifth Third Park on the first day of November in front of a great crowd!
The matchup is part of South Carolina's four-game fall exhibition schedule and will serve as the Gamecocks' final fall game. South Carolina also faces High Point, College of Charleston, and Winthrop this fall.
“We are very excited to head to Fifth Third Park to play a quality opponent in Duke and to play in front of our great fans in the Upstate,” said South Carolina Head Coach Kevin Schnall. “It will be a great way to end our fall exhibition schedule and to continue to prepare us for the 2027 season."
Schnall was hired in June after South Carolina finished 22-35 in 2026. The former Coastal Carolina skipper led the Chanticleers to a College World Series runner-up finish in 2025 and won over 90 games in two seasons as head coach. In the opposite dugout, Corey Muscara enters his second season leading Duke. The Blue Devils concluded their 2026 campaign in the second round of the ACC Tournament.
The NCAA expanded its allowance for Division I programs to play outside competition in the fall, making 2026 the first year teams can play four such exhibition games without sacrificing games in their Spring seasons.
In 2027, Fifth Third Park will host Indiana, Austin Peay, UNC-Wilmington and Wofford from February 26-28 as part of REV Entertainment’s College Baseball Series, along with other matchups which have yet to be announced.
