
Wappingers Falls, NY – The Hudson Valley Renegades came from behind twice to beat Wilmington 5-4 on Independence Day at Heritage Financial Park.
Hudson Valley and Wilmington were tied 3-3 heading into the final seventh inning. The Blue Rocks took a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh, but the Renegades scored two in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead for good.
The game was halted for a 53-minute rain delay after the bottom of the second inning with the game tied 1-1.
Saturday night marked the Renegades’ seventh comeback win coming in the seventh inning or later in 2026. It’s their first since 6/5 at Frederick.
Hudson Valley pitching struck out a series-high 15 batters and walked just four.
Six of nine Renegades batters got on base, and five of those six got hits.
Hudson Valley batters stole three bases. The Renegades have stolen 16 bases this series against Wilmington.
The Renegades improved to 3-8 this season against Wilmington, and 2-3 against them in the second half.
Wilmington baserunners were caught stealing four times on the bases, a season-high for runners caught stealing by the Hudson Valley.
The Renegades improved to 19-7 (.731) in games in which they commit no errors.

The home run surrendered to Jacob Walsh was the 12th home run of the season given up by Herrera, the fourth-most surrendered by a pitcher in a single-season in Renegades history. Josh Maciejewski (2021), Zach Messinger (2023 and Tyrone Yulie (2023) each hold the club record having surrendered 13 homers in a season.
