
Wappingers Falls, NY – The Hudson Valley Renegades fell late to the Wilmington Blue Rocks 7-4 on Friday night at Heritage Financial Park.
Wilmington scored first, but Hudson Valley led 4-2 going into the final three innings. The Blue Rocks scored two runs in the eighth and three runs in the ninth to take the win.
In the bottom of the ninth, Jacob Walsh continued the inning on a crucial catcher’s interference call. Later, Angel Feliz stole home base to get the Blue Rocks their final run of the game.
All but one Renegades batter got on base of Friday night, and five Renegades got hits.
Hudson Valley drew eight walks. It has drawn a total of 22 walks this series against Wilmington.
Of the Blue Rocks 12 hits, four of the were for extra bases. Every Blue Rock got on base and all but two got hits.
The Renegades fall to 2-8 against the Blue Rocks this season, all of which have been played at home.
Hudson Valley has tied its season low-water mark of seven games below .500. Before this the Renegades had not been seven games below .500 since 7/16/17 when they were 9-16. The team has not been eight games below .500 since the end of the 2007 season when the team finished 34-42.
