Wilmington, Del. (Sept. 3, 2026) – The Hudson Valley Renegades picked up a 7-0 shutout win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night at Frawley Stadium.
The Renegades picked up their sixth shutout win of the season and their first since a 2-0 win on 8/21 (G2) at Jersey Shore. It was the first nine-inning shutout win for the Renegades since a 3-0 10-inning win against Rome on 7/7.
The Renegades were shut out by the Blue Rocks in the first two games of the series, so all three games this week have resulted in shutouts.
Despite the win, the Renegades were eliminated from playoff contention after a 6-5 win by the Greensboro Grasshoppers over the Asheville Tourists. The Grasshoppers clinched the second half playoff spot in the SAL North, despite not having played a game against an SAL North opponent in the second half.
The Renegades will play the final three games of the regular season out of playoff contention. Since the current playoff format was adopted in 2022, the Renegades have played only one regular season game in which they were out of playoff contention, on 9/10/22 at Wilmington.
The win for the Renegades clinched at least a .500 record on the season. Hudson Valley has not had a sub-.500 record in a year since 2011, one of the longest streaks in Minor League Baseball of winning seasons.
The Renegades pulled away with five runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to three home runs, including back-to-back homers by Jackson Lovich and David McCann.
It was the second time this year that the Renegades have hit three homers in an inning, with the other occasion coming on 8/15 vs Wilmington in the ninth inning of an 8-5 walk-off win.
It was the sixth time this year that the Renegades have hit back-to-back home runs, with McCann hitting the second homer of the pair twice.
Hudson Valley improved to 12-15 this season against Wilmington.
LHP Allen Facundo (5.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 7 K) struck out seven batters across 5.0 innings and picked up the win.
It was Facundo’s highest strikeout total since he struck out nine on 8/9 at Greenville, a span of four starts.
Facundo allowed no runs for the second time in his last three starts and for the third time this season with Hudson Valley.
Facundo leads Yankees minor league pitchers with 148 strikeouts on the season which also ranks fourth among all pitchers in Minor League Baseball this season.
Facundo has 123 strikeouts with the Renegades which ranks second in the SAL behind teammate Luis Serna (133). Serna and Facundo are the only teammates in MiLB to rank 1-2 in strikeouts in their league.
Facundo has walked three-or-more batters in every start since 7/2 vs Wilmington, a stretch of 10 straight starts.
The start came on Facundo’s 24th birthday, making him the second Renegades starting pitcher this season to start on his birthday, joining Franyer Herrera, who did so on 5/3 at Jersey Shore.
Facundo also started on his birthday in 2025 with Single-A Tampa. On his birthday in the last two years Facundo is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 10.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 12 K.
Facundo stranded nine runners on base across his five innings, including six left in scoring position.
CF Jackson Lovich (2-for-5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI, SB) blasted a game-breaking three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to extend the Renegades’ lead to 6-0 at the time.
Lovich’s home run was his 23rd of the season between the Renegades and Single-A Tampa. He also has 87 RBIs, the most among Yankees minor leaguers this season.
Lovich stole second base in the first inning and has 39 steals on the season, including 18 with the Renegades.
Lovich has reached base in 18 of his last 19 games played and has a .403 on-base percentage with Hudson Valley.
C David McCann (1-for-5, HR, R, RBI, K) hit his eighth home run in his 20th game played with the Renegades.
McCann has two homers in his last four games and three homers in his last six.
McCann is now up to 17 homers this season in 65 total games played, and is hitting a home run every 12.76 at-bats.
2B Enmanuel Tejeda (1-for-4, R, HR, RBI, BB, K) hit his first home run since 8/9 at Greenville (19 games played) to kick off the Renegades’ five-run seventh inning.
RF Dean Toigo (1-for-4, BB, K) has gotten on base in 17 of his first 19 professional games.
Toigo has hits in four of his last five games played.
3B Hans Montero (0-for-3, RBI, 2 BB, K) has RBIs in two of his last four games played.
DH Willy Montero (3-for-4, R, RBI, K) grabbed his first three-hit performance with the Renegades and his second multi-hit performance.
Montero grabbed his 10th RBI with the Renegades.
1B Kyle West (1-for-4, 2 K) broke a three-game hitless streak.
LHP Jose Ledesma (2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K) threw 2.0 scoreless innings in relief and has back-to-back scoreless outings to begin his High-A career.
Since May 21, Ledesma has a 1.48 ERA across 20 games (27.2 IP, 16 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 12 BB, 29 K) between the Renegades and Single-A Tampa.
RHP Andrew Landry (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) recorded his fifth straight scoreless appearance, totaling 7.0 innings pitched.
RHP Hansel Rincon (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K) threw his first scoreless appearance since 8/25 vs Brooklyn.
