INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Indians outfielder Robert Hassell III delivered a line drive to center field to score Jack Brannigan for a 6-5 walk-off win against the Omaha Storm Chasers on the final home game of the 2026 season in front of 10,688 fans at Victory Field on Sunday afternoon. Hassell III finished the day 2-for-4 with one walk at the plate.
Omaha (31-36, 64-77) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning starting off with a Drew Waters single to center field to score major league rehabber Maikel Garcia for the first run of the game. After a Brett Squires ground-rule double to left center, Carson Roccaforte singled to score Waters and Squires. Peyton Wilson doubled to score Roccaforte and end the early rally for Omaha.
Indy (40-29, 71-73) got on the board in the bottom of the second inning when infielder Nick Cimillo doubled to score Hassell III and make it a 4-1 game. Indians outfielder Mitch Jebb doubled on a line drive to center field to score Cimillo, extending his on-base streak to 22 games. After Derek Berg was hit by a pitch, Nick Yorke singled to right field to score Jebb and Berg to tie the game at 4-4.
In the top of the third inning, Waters came up and rocketed a 411-foot home run to right field to put Omaha back in front, 5-4. Waters ended the day 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
On the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth inning, Tyler Callihan homered to right field to tie the game, 5-5, homering in back-to-back contests for the first time this season.
Indy starter Thomas Harrington went 2.0 innings and gave up five runs with two strikeouts. CD Pelham, Brandon Neeck, Noah Murdock, Michael Darrell-Hicks and Beau Burrows (W, 6-4) did not allow a run in their 7.0 innings of relief and only gave up three hits to Omaha.
Omaha starter Ryan Ramsey went 4.0 innings and allowed five runs. Scott Alexander (L, 0-2) came on for the ninth, but surrendered both hits to Brannigan and Hassell III.
The Indians will visit the Gwinnett Stripers for the final series of the regular season for six games beginning Tuesday at 6:05 PM ET. Starting pitchers for the series opener have not been named at this time.
