I-CUBS DEFEAT OMAHA FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT VICTORY

Rallying from four runs down, The Iowa Cubs (26-30, 56-72) defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers (25-29, 58-70) 7-6 and earned their fourth straight victory Saturday night at Principal Park.

The teams traded leadoff home runs for the second consecutive game, with B.J. Murray hitting another leadoff home run for Iowa. Omaha would go on to score two more runs in the second inning to retake the lead. The Storm Chasers would hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fourth inning to extend their lead to 5-1.

Iowa rallied to retake the lead. They would cut into the lead in the fourth inning with a run scored on a Ben Cowles sacrifice fly. The I-Cubs went on to score four runs in the fifth inning on a solo home run from Jackson Cluff, an RBI single by Greg Jones, and a two-run home run from Owen Ayers to take a 6-5 lead.

The Storm Chasers scored one run in the seventh inning to tie the game. Iowa would go on to regain the lead in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Ben Cowles. 

After putting the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the ninth inning, Jayden Murray and Eduarniel Nunez combined to get the final three outs to preserve the I-Cubs victory.

The Iowa Cubs conclude a six game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:08 PM.
