
The Iowa Cubs (29-39, 59-81) defeated the Toledo Mud Hens (69-73, 35-33) 2-1 in their home finale on Sunday afternoon at Principal Park.
The game began after a one-hour and 53 minute weather delay. Toledo scored the first run of the game in the first inning. Iowa got on the board in the second inning with what proved to be a go-ahead two-run home run from Jordan Nwogu.
Iowa Cubs starting pitcher Kohl Franklin earned his first Triple-A victory after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing just one run. Shelby Miller, Jaxon Wiggins, and Jayden Murray provided 1.2 scoreless innings of relief out of the bullpen. Gabe Klobosits pitched the final 1.1 innings for Iowa, earning his fourth save of the season and securing the I-Cubs victory.
The Iowa Cubs are off on Monday before beginning their final series of the 2026 season on Tuesday against the Omaha Storm Chasers, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM.
