I-CUBS RALLY TO DEFEAT TOLEDO IN EXTRA INNINGS

The Iowa Cubs (19-29, 49-71) rallied to defeat the Toledo Mud Hens (24-24, 58-64) 5-4 in ten innings on Thursday evening at Fifth Third Field.

Iowa scored the first run of the game in the first inning on a sacrifice fly from B.J. Murray and added another run in the fourth inning on an RBI double from Chas McCormick. Toledo scored one run in the fourth inning to make it a one run game. 

The I-Cubs added back on to their lead with an RBI double from Ben Cowles in the sixth inning. Toledo went on to score three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead. 

Down to their final out in the ninth inning and trailing by one, James Triantos launched an RBI double off the left field wall to tie the game at 4-4. After a scoreless bottom of the ninth, the game went to extra innings. Iowa scored one run in the tenth inning to take the lead. Luis Peralta came on to record the final three outs to earn the win and preserve the I-Cubs victory. 

This is the first win for Iowa this season when trailing after the seventh or eighth innings.
