The Iowa Cubs (57-76) mustered just two hits in a 7-1 loss to the Columbus Clippers (72-61) tonight at Huntington Park.
The I-Cubs scored their lone run in the third inning as Jackson Cluff scored on a double from Ben Cowles. The lead did not last long as Columbus scored two runs in the bottom half to take a 2-1 advantage.
The Clippers added two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to take the 7-1 win.
Iowa will play at Columbus on Saturday for the fifth of a six-game series with first pitch slated for 6:05 p.m. CT.
